Yesterday evening was rather a whirlwind. When Jason got home from work I handed off the baby and finished getting myself ready. Gavin and I headed to the township building to vote. I came home and finished dinner, then ate. The baby and I then headed to the dr. for his 6 month check-up before going back home to pick up the rest of the family for our weekly Slovak tutoring. Whew!
Overall his appointment went well, though I doubt he would say that due to the two shots he received. You would think it would be a little easier with #3, but it isn't. I especially hate that Dawson seems to look right at me when it starts to hurt and I feel terrible.
He weighed in at 15 pounds, 4 ounces so he's not a particularly large baby especially for his birth weight. He is 26 3/4 inches long. I'm somewhat uncertain of the accuracy of his weight since his legs were hanging off the end of the scale and making the one side go down more than the other. The nurse did move him up a little bit when I mentioned something, but I think it would have been better to sit him on it.
Developmentally and socially he's doing everything he is supposed to be doing. The dr. didn't even have to ask about some things because he got the answers just from watching him.
I can hardly believe my baby is half way through his first year already. It has gone by so quickly and I really want it to so slow down a little bit! I am going to miss having a baby in the house (but not enough to have another!). I guess I'll just have to look forward to my boys having some grandchildren for me! :)
