Today we decided to head to the strawberry farm. Their web site said they had been picking for three days already. We arrived a little before noon to discover that most of the berries still need a lot of ripening time. The first year we went there we apparently went at the exact right time b/c we could literally sit in one spot and pick (we picked 12 baskets!). Last year we went too late and only small berries were left. This year we were too early. We only got one basket picked and that took us quite some time. Well....
....while I was getting them hulled and cut for dessert, I asked Jason to go downstairs to see if we had any whipped cream in the deep freezer. Much to my dismay he came back up and told me the entire freezer was thawed. I honestly hoped he was kidding b/c I had just been thinking this afternoon about the large ham I had down there and how we should invite some company and serve it. I went downstairs to see a puddle of water on the bottom and everything thawed out. The freezer was plugged in, was still on, and the door had not been open. We have no idea what happened. Jason filled two garbage bags full of ruined meat, ice cream, and veggies. So....
....we were both thankful we didn't pick baskets and baskets of berries intending to freeze them all like we have the past two years. We would have had no where to put them! I guess the Lord spared us all the frustration we would have had. Thank you, Lord!

Oh my goodness! How disappointing. Good for you, though, for looking on the bright side. I would have been a mess! I wonder why that happened?
