Church Update

I thought I'd give you an update on my post from last week. As I mentioned, the man who was supposed to come this weekend canceled due to being asked to candidate at another church. The search committee then decided to have a phone interview with another man this past Tuesday night. On Monday he canceled that appointment. That was certainly not something we wanted or expected to happen.

They have one potential candidate left at this point, though he is currently a pastor and is not actively looking for a new church. Of course the Lord can work, but yet I hate the thought of putting another church in the same situation that we've been faced with for the past year and a half.

Our biggest prayer request at this point is that our church people would both grow spiritually and be willing to serve. It seems a small number are the ones who are serving. Nearly every ministry in our church needs more workers to help ease the burden on those who are already serving. We are fearful that those who are serving will get burnt out by being asked to do too many things.

In addition, we need wisdom to know when we should move on. This is not an easy decision to make, as I'm sure you can imagine. There are many factors to consider and we truly need the Lord's wisdom as we sort through all of this.
