There are certain times when I feel highly driven to be productive. For some reason, last week was one of those times.
I tried to take advantage of it, spending time sorting through all my clothes, filling nearly two bags to get rid of, and packing up all my summer clothes. I also organized my closet, something I hadn't done in a long time. I even found flyers from a vacation we took in August 2005. That's bad.
I worked on the boys' scrapbooks, getting caught up on quite a few pages. I received all the pictures I previously mentioned ordering and I got them all sorted into categories, though I haven't gotten them in our books yet.
I also spent time in the basement, provoked mainly by being severely embarrassed by the gas man having to wade through the mess. I got quite a bit done, though it is kind of hard to tell that. I think it is going to take a lot more effort before it will look like anything has been accomplished.
Another project was working on some family Christmas gifts. Nothing difficult, but just a little time consuming. I think I'm almost done with that.
I worked on Christmas cards, completing all the cards for the families and singles in our church, as well as our missionaries. I was so thankful to complete that project! I started preparing envelopes for our family and friends Christmas letter, but I still have to get the labels printed. I also started composing our letter, which I suppose I should finish tomorrow. Hmmm. Maybe.
The worst part about working on projects is that it is hard to keep up with the daily mess of the house. So today I had to catch up, trying to put everything back where it belongs. I also went into the boys room and reorganized (once again) all the toys, books, etc. I took a few things down into the basement, brought a couple toys back up, and put some things high up in their closet so they can only play with them if they ask. It's amazing to see the excitement on their faces when they've been reunited with a toy that has spent a couple months in the basement. It's almost like getting a new toy! The less toys they have free access to, the more likely we are to see the floor by the end of the day. It's also a good way to prevent constant tripping.
I can't wait until my next burst of energy - I hope it comes before we move!
