Our last morning in Asia we went to the zoo for the sole purpose of seeing the pandas. According to the friend who took us, we got to see the pandas as active as he has ever seen them. One kept walking around his enclosure, occasionally taking time to jump up and twirl around. The other climbed up on top of his playground and posed for the foreigners, to the delight of all. They walk with a lumbering gait, with the front and back of the body swaying with each step. The cause of this is the placement of the paws when they step, pointing inward.
