I ran my second race this past Friday. This time it was a 4.3 km race. I guess I'll hit the 5k mark one of these days! Our village had "Days of the Village" over the weekend and the kick-off event on Friday was a run for children, teens, and then adults. There were 109 in the adult race - most of whom were 20-somethings, I must say! The temps were in the upper 70's with a bright, beautiful (and hot) sun. I had a goal of running it in 26 minutes and I am happy to report that I ran it in just over 25 minutes. I once again forgot to look at the timer and/or Jason's watch when I crossed the finish line, but Jason looked at the timer a little after I finished and saw 25:20. There weren't any time chips, so I'll never know for sure what it was exactly, but I was really happy with that time.
I've now been running for just over 5 months. My first race was 4.2 km with a time of 28:52 and my second race, which was two months later was 4.3 km with a time of 25:20 (minus a few seconds!).
So here's a post-race pic, but it's not a very good one with my head in the shadow. Oh well!
