Last year our oldest son had a classmate, who although not terribly mean, seemed to find ways to do things to him during the school day. Sometimes G would even get in trouble over it because the teacher would think they weren't getting along. The last day of school I was completely shocked to see this boy crying as he left the school building. When I asked my friend who works in the after-school club about it, she told me he was crying because our boys were going to a different school this year!
I've seen him around the village a few times and he's asked about the school and how the boys are doing. Very often Jason and the boys see him walking to school while they are driving to their school and they wave to each other.
One afternoon when G called to tell me they were done with piano lessons, he told me this boy was there with his mom. I suggested to him that he tell S about the new club our church has started four afternoons a week for school-aged children. He did and that week S visited for the first time! I found out yesterday that he was there this past week as well.
I am excited that G did invite him and that S was receptive to it (and his parents). I hope that this relationship will build and that this boy might come to know the Lord through the club. And hopefully he will invite others as well so that the outreach of the club might spread!
Even children can be used by the Lord as missionaries for Him!
