The boys were talking about a fun day that was planned at their school the following day, which included a trip for the whole school to go to a theater and watch "Frozen" in Slovak. From G, "I can't wait until tomorrow! P, can you wait?" From P, "What does that mean?" G explained what "can't wait" means and P replied, "That (feeling like that) doesn't help at all." (Dec., 2013)
In spite of knowing Santa is not real, Dawson was concerned that Mikulaš, who is celebrated on Dec. 6th, will not be able to visit the kindergarten if they don't have a chimney. Thankfully Mikulaš was sitting in a chair waiting for the children when we arrived at the school the next day. Dawson got quite the loot too - a mandarin orange, a drink, chocolate covered bananas, a banana, a little toy, and a little coloring book. (Dec., 2013)
As I was preparing dinner one night, one of the boys declared, "I like diarrheas!" (instead of quesadillas)
I was baking something and D told me, "You're a good maker." Later, "I love you so much. More than you love me." Words like that really warm my heart! (Oct., 2013)
D told me that his noodles at lunch tasted like pepperoni. Knowing there is no pepperoni here I was quite surprised. He then began a rousing rendition of "Yankee Doodle", which made me realize he meant "macaroni" not "pepperoni". Definitely good for a little chuckle! (Sept., 2013)
Me to D after a fall: "Did you hit your head?" D to me: "No, I hit the ground." (May, 2013)
Just a few things I want to remember in the years to come!
