Jason had been going through ABWE's chronological Bible teaching cards with the kids during family devotions. Because of traveling and other things it took us longer to get through it all, but I think the timing was just right for P's age and understanding.
During our August VBS, P came back after one of the teaching times. Because Jason and I were directing it, I was able to be there to talk with him. I started asking him questions and could tell by his answers and the way he was acting that he wasn't quite ready yet. I think he knew it was something good to do, but his heart/mind wasn't ready to connect all the dots to a true belief and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.
Months passed and we were back at homeschooling. We often listen to "Keys for Kids" which is part of Children's Bible Hour. That day the topic was about knowing about God versus truly knowing God. When it was finished and we started discussing it, P said he wanted to do that (know God personally). Since Jason was home, I took P to him and we were both able to be with him as he prayed and accepted Christ as His personal Savior.
That night the picture card was of the rapture (perfect timing) and Jason asked who would be there. P said, "I'll be there! Definitely me." What a blessing!

Such good news...I'm so glad that Peyton has accepted Christ! And what a blessing that you were both able to talk with him. I'm sure that is a sweet memory :-)
