Peyton-isms, Etc.

During our recent conference, Jason told Gavin to use his knuckle rather than his finger to push the elevator buttons (to help avoid germs a little bit!). Peyton heard this and later told Gavin, "Use your nickles!"

Today Peyton told Gavin to go "on-line" for something. But later in the conversation he said something about the "interstate" rather than "internet." Guess I better get used to my children being well accustomed with the technological world!

Peyton really took a liking to the pastor's wife at our latest church. One night as I was tucking him in for bed, I said, "You like Mrs. D----, don't you?" His reply was, "Because she likes me." It's amazing how kids can pick up on whether or not an adult likes them and/or being around them. Some pastors and their wives make the children feel more special than others.

Peyton just recoverd from hand-foot-mouth disease. Not a sickness for the faint of heart, I might add. He picked it up at a recent mission conference. We know this because they called to let us know a few days later. He was actually a trooper, only asking for medicine when it was time to eat. Thankfully his desire to eat overcame his discomfort and he didn't get dehydrated. I actually think he had a somewhat mild case as it was mainly just mouth sores with only two blisters on his fingers. We are hoping the other boys will remain virus free, but we'll see!

On Monday he began to complain that his ear hurt and by dinner time he had no appetite and a temp of over 100. I took him to a dr. the next day and sure enough he had an ear infection. The funny thing is he hasn't been sick (other than the hfm virus) and he's never had an ear infection that I can remember.
