Outside Adventures

We have the blessing of a very large backyard in which the boys can play. Since we have woods in the back, evergreens on one side, and an abandoned trailer/garage on the other side, we have a lot of privacy.

I've been trying to be a good mom and ignore the extra bathing and laundry sending my boys outdoors produces. BUT, they have about changed my mind with these recent escapades.

- They threw sticks, grass, and weeds into the cooling fan that runs our heating and air conditioning. Thankfully it's still working.

-They broke an old jar they found by the trailer. Gavin got a cut by his mouth and Peyton on his wrist.

-Peyton climbed up a section of their play house which is not yet assembled. He got stuck at the top and couldn't get down.

-Peyton found a dagger that Jason brought back from Europe in the garage. I found him running with it in the back yard. Thankfully he still had the cover on. Although it has a rounded tip, it would still go into a person if they fell on it.

-Peyton climbed the evergreens along the edge of our property, which actually belong to our neighbors.

-They ate flower buds on some plants behind the house. They thought they were beans. I called the Poison Control Center only to find out that you have to identify the plant before they can help you. After an hour of searching on the Internet I found out they are called Solomon's Seal. The plants and flowers are safe, but the berries they will soon be producing can cause gastric problems and vomiting.

This city girl who loves the country is being put to the test!
