Second Missionary Cupboad

It seems the missionary cupboard is a rarity these days as so few churches seem to have them. We are now in our seventh month of travel and we just "shopped" in our second missionary cupboard yesterday. The ladies kept wanting me to take more and more things. They said the standard on how much to take was that if you saw something you needed, you were supposed to take it! When I unpacked the bags today I found one of the ladies had thrown in something when I wasn't looking! She also grabbed a couple toys for the boys on the way out because she thought they needed something too.

The biggest blessing from what we got was underclothes for Jason. He often mentions that he needs more of this and that - especially when I get behind on the laundry! I got him t-shirts, white socks, and even some underwear! (Hey, we all wear them, right?) I got a new set of sheets for our bed, two washcloth and towel sets that perfectly match the shower curtain (our towels have seen better days after nearly nine years of use), gallon storage bags (which I had just been thinking I needed to buy), some note cards, an activity booklet for Gavin, and some printer paper (we use plenty of this!). The lady gave Dawson a fleece bear someone had made and a tow truck, complete with buttons to push to make the appropriate noises, for the boys.

It was definitely a special blessing and surprise for us. We are thankful for those who work so hard to gather and organize all the items. It is almost like a mini-Christmas!

Our church has a missionary cupboard. I think we have a pretty well-stocked one, but I'd love to hear other ideas from you of what to include. I'd never thought of printer paper, but that is a great idea.

Praying for you guys in these busy weeks!
