Beginning the weekend of Nov. 8/9, every member in the family was affected by one or more illnesses. We experienced coughs, strep throat, viral eye infections, a staph infection (I learned a whole lot more about that than I ever knew before and can see why people become germaphobes!), rashes, sore throats, and colds. It has been truly amazing to see the next infliction roll around. We had a two week break before Christmas, but Peyton got the ball rolling again. He came down with the flu this past Sunday, thereby eliminating some of the holiday plans we had made. His digestion still isn't completely right, but his appetite has returned and he's not getting sick any more. So far the rest of us seem unscathed, though I've heard it can take anywhere from 48-72 hours after the last exposure to show symptoms. If we can make it to Sunday still healthy we should be able to declare ourselves untouched.
Now Peyton and Gavin both appear to be coming down with colds. This probably means another week or two of sickness as they get over theirs and pass it on to the rest of us.
Better pull out the vitamin C!
