Last night I headed to our local CVS and Wal*greens to snag the deals. Jason was staying home with Peyton and the baby (since baby was sick and couldn't be in the nursery), so I headed out a little earlier than needed with Gavin. Shopping with a child while trying to make sure I got the best deal (and trying to make sure we wouldn't be late for church) was not the simplest thing in the world, particularly when I heard a crash and looked over to see the cart tipped over and on top of my son, my items and coupons scattered on the floor.
But, I was quite pleased with my trip when I only had to shell out 24 cents due to sales, coupons, and ECB's. I bought two lipsticks, two eye shadows, two pkgs. of pads, a roll of Christmas wrapping paper, two cans of cranberry sauce, Children's Tylenol, Children's Motrin, two Atkins bars, and a 20 roll pack of Cottonelle toilet paper. The best thing about it is I still have $10 in ECB's.
After church we went to Wal*greens. I didn't do as well there, I usually don't, but I was pleased to actually find everything I wanted in stock. They are notorious for being out of items by Wednesday or Thursday. For $30.70 I bought Caltrate, two Centrum vitamin packs (w/ bonus travel bottles), 3 bottles of hand soap, 2 dish detergents, a roll of Christmas wrapping paper, 4 cans of soup, 3 cans of tomato sauce, 4 boxes of cereal, 4 bottles of Fructis shampoo/conditioner, a hairspray, a mousse, and two boxes of instant oatmeal. I got back $13 in RR, so I actually spent only $17.70. I should have done the transaction in two orders in order to use some of that on my second purchase (since they expire in 2 wks.), but there always seems to be someone behind me and only one cash register open. I like to get a good deal, but I don't like to annoy everyone in the process.
The best deal out of the whole shopping experience was the Fructis. I bought 6 items and actually made 6 cents. Wal*greens has them on sale for $2.99, but they have a coupon in their Jan. Easy Saver (found in stores) for $2 off each item. I already had some $1 off coupons (which can be used in conjunction with the store coupon), but they also had some coupons for $1 off on the display in the store. I used four of the display coupons and two of my own, but am hoping to go back to see if there are any more left later in the week. This sale applies to virtually all of their hair products, so you could get everything you need for free. Don't pass this one up!
Anyone else score some good deals at these stores or in your post-Christmas shopping?

You did way better at Walgreen's than I did this week! I did the cereal deal but forgot two of my $1/1 coupons at home. Grr. Hate it when that happens. I have LOADS of shampoo right now so I passed up the fructis deal. Maybe I'll go back though . . . sounds too good to pass up! I need to get to CVS still to do the Johnson's & Johnson's deal.
Glad you made out so well and glad your son wasn't hurt by the cart-tipping incident!
Good job! That was a great shopping venture! I got some good deals at CVS this week, but skipped Walgreens - it is further and I had to other reason to go up that way this week.
I agree that the deal-shopping is much easier without the kiddos!
