Finally!

I am finally feeling more prepared for the baby to come! Now mind you, I am NOT ready for the night-time feedings, etc., but I at least feel that logistically we're ready.

Jason was a HUGE help yesterday by going into the garage to find all the baby stuff we were missing. He found the missing bin, so we now have burp rags and pacifiers - two essentials. I even discovered a few things I did not know I had stored in there! He also gathered together all the baby items - car seat, swing, bouncer, bathtub, and Pack 'n Play so we could get everything washed and put batteries into the appropriate items. He set up the Pack 'n Play in our room so now the baby has a place to sleep! This morning Peyton came in, looked into the bed, and asked, "Where is the baby?" I guess he assumed because we were getting all the baby items out that the baby must be around somewhere too. I told him he's still in my stomach (although I did think I might be in labor last night).

I ordered custom made brother t-shirts for the boys on Thursday and they arrived yesterday as well. I am happy with them overall, but the wording on Peyton's is a little crooked. My mom and Jason don't think it's too noticeable and probably not worth the hassle of returning, etc., but I'm not sure. I think I got a fairly good deal on them, so I don't want to make a huge fuss, but I also want them to look nice for pictures.

I added a few more items to the hospital suitcase and organized it a little better. We should only have a few toiletries to throw in when it's time to go.

A neighbor lady (who is also our State Farm agent) told my mom she would come stay with the boys through the night if I go into labor while they are gone. That way if I don't have the baby we didn't wake them up and transport them for nothing and if I do have the baby we have someone to watch them until we can come get them or make other arrangements. She does have to work during the day though, so we'll still have to figure that out if the need arises. One of my tasks for today is working on a schedule and instruction sheet to give anyone who might watch them.

Friday night and last night I was up timing contractions in the middle of the night. Not fun! I spent some of the time lying in bed trying to go to sleep between them and part of it on the Internet. Friday night (or Saturday morning) I woke up at 5:00 with a painful contraction. I decided to wait it out in bed for a while, but got up shortly before six to time them. I went back to bed at 6:30 when I realized they weren't progressing. Last night they started out at 15 min. apart for several contractions, then began to weaken and spread to 20 min. apart. I decided to go back to bed (at three) and thankfully slept fairly well the rest of the night. They are wearing me out though, especially getting up to time them, and I'm hoping they either cease or I just get on with labor!

Only two more days of bed rest. Oh boy, the plans I have!
