Gavin's Birthday

This year for Gavin's birthday we had a dinosaur theme. The cake was a cause of stress, primarily because I was trying to make a non-dairy and non-artery clogging frosting. It didn't want to hold its shape, so the dinosaur's side scales were a little droopy. Gavin was happy with it though, complete with the fact that it was yellow - his favorite color. We had invited my grandparents and aunts and uncles, but only one uncle was able to come thanks to having 4 wheel drive. We got a snow storm that lasted all day so the roads were rather treachorous. Welcome to country living! We had a nice time in spite of it and enough food to last for days (since we were planning on around 20 people!). I can't believe my boy is five years old. He is of course very excited about it, but I'm not so sure. :)

Oh, the cake looks GREAT -- I don't see any droopiness whatsoever! :) Even though not everyone was able to make it, the look of happiness on his face tells me that he will have wonderful memories of this birthday -- "droopy" scales and all! :)

Happy Birthday, Gavin!
You're next, aren't you? And then mine... Oh, dear. I think we should just skip ours this year, what do you say? ;)
