I said no to the temptation of "cheating" on my bed rest orders and going out to dinner, so Jason shopped for and cooked dinner. He served a salad, fries, green beans, our home-made applesauce, bread, and steak. It was a nice dinner - the steaks were tender and tasty.
He made an angel food cake for dessert to be served with strawberries and whipped cream. This is what my mom always made for my birthdays growing up. It's kind of a tradition. The nice thing about it is that Gavin can have some angel food cake mixes and the strawberries so he doesn't feel left out.
After eating the cake and opening my cards and presents, we played a few games of Sequence with my mom and the boys. After the boys got their baths and went to bed, Jason and I played Racko. This is one game I can actually win against him which is why I enjoy it! We played seven games and he pulled ahead by winning the very last game. We then watched a video he had gotten from the library earlier in the day.
In spite of having some contractions and having to take my medicine (for the first time on bed rest), it was a nice day overall. Thanks to my husband for a very nice dinner!
