34 Weeks

I had a pretty uneventful dr. appointment today other than the fact that I didn't get to see the dr. I was expecting to see (the dr. that put me on bed rest). She was held up at the hospital with a C-section, so one of the other drs. was trying to see his patients and hers. I had never met him before, but he was pretty nice. I can't really judge him by our appointment today because I'm sure he felt a little stressed and was obviously very busy. I would certainly prefer one of the three female drs., all of whom have been very nice, at the delivery, but he would be fine too.

He said the baby's heartbeat was good and that he would have a good chance at not having any serious pre-term complications if he was born now. He did tell me to continue bed rest for two more weeks, at which point I will be at 36 weeks. He said then they will lift some of the restrictions. I'm not sure exactly what that will entail (or not entail, as the case may be) so I just have my eyes focused on getting through the next two weeks.

The best part about the appointment was discovering I didn't make the scale numbers sky rocket this time. The numbers actually bounced around a bit - they use a digital scale - so I'm not exactly sure what my weight was, but the nurse said she was going to write me down as 1/2 a pound less that my last appointment. Fine with me! My appetite has been picking up lately in spite of bed rest, but my body must be burning up all the calories on baby making!

Three cheers for making it to 34 weeks!

I give you three cheers too, Dellie! When I was sick with the flu a couple of weeks ago I learned what a horrible patient I was. My mom was irritated with me b/c I didn't take naps & I was so restless. Probably made it take longer to recoup, but it's so hard to be still! I'm praying for you & your men. The end is in sight! ;-)
