I found out yesterday that I failed my one hour glucose test. My number was 150 and it should have been below 140. I'm actually a little frustrated because I took the test last week Thursday and was told the dr. would have the results by Friday. The nurse called me on Tuesday to give me my urinalysis results, but said she didn't have the glucose results yet. I called back Thursday and she still didn't have them. She told she would look for them and call me back. She never called. I called yesterday morning only to find out I had failed and that they want me to go for the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Unfortunately they are booked all the way through the second week of February. She told me she would call me back with the appt. time, but again she never called. So I guess I'll be calling AGAIN on Monday to get the appointment time. I really don't want to wait two to three weeks to find out for sure because that is a lot of time for my blood sugar to bounce around if it is a problem. The nurse told me I don't really have to change my diet until they know for sure, but I could watch the amount of sugar I eat. Well, I've decided to do a little more than that since I have to wait so long to be tested. I've been trying to find some info. in the Internet, but I must admit it's hard to figure it all out.
Hopefully I will pass the test, but until then I'm going to try to eat as if I do have gestational diabetes. I don't want a ten pound baby!

With chloe I failed the 1 hour test but then passed the 3 hour test fine. Never had GD but chloe still turned out to be a 10 pounder! I'm sure that's bcuz we went 2 weeks overdue though.
That all sounds like NO FUN! I hate it when the doctor's office gives you the run around. I hope you're able to get an appointment much sooner than expected. Maybe there will be a cancellation. Be careful with that internet research; it's caused me more than one freak out!
