...a pastor's wife.
A phone conversation I had with a friend provoked me to focus on the things I have to be grateful for as we minister at our church. I have a tendency to be my phlegmatic/melancholy, pessimistic self at times (too many times, I'm afraid!). My list is not in any particular order.
-My husband gets paid to do something he enjoys.
-We get to know the people in the church better than others.
-Some people in the church remember our birthdays.
-I get to hear my husband preach.
-We get to lead teen activities together.
-We have many people who care about our family.
-We get to be involved in people's lives.
-We get many opportunities to minister in the church.
-My husband's hours are flexible (sometimes!).
-His day off can be moved around for special events, etc.
-We get to serve the Lord in full-time service.
-The Lord has always provided for our needs.
-We get to see spiritual growth/decisions in our people.
-A couple from church babysits our children for free.
-A previous member allows us to rent her house.
-People are willing to share their problems/concerns with us.
-My husband gets to put his education into practice.
-My boys get lots of exposure to church and other Christians.
-I get to kiss the pastor! :)

The last one is too cute :o) It is always wonderful to see/hear/read about a wife who is so in love with her husband. Also lovely to know there are people who are excited to serve the Lord!
