Toddler Discussion Time?

Today at library class, the teacher came up with the idea of having a discussion time about Mother's Day, which was the theme for the day. She started asking each child questions, such as, "What does your mom like to do for fun? What's her favorite food? What is her favorite t.v. show?" Obviously this is dangerous territory when you are having this discussion with 3-5 yr. olds. One mom's real name is Mommy. Another mom's favorite show is the Wiggles - somehow I hardly think so.

Gavin's questions? "How old is your mom?" Answer: "Two" Maybe that is why he never listens to me - he thinks I am younger than him! "What food does she cook the best?" Answer: "Cream of wheat" Jason has a particular way he likes the cream of wheat to be (and I never seem to get it just right), so most of the time he makes it, not me. I don't know what that is supposed to say about my cooking!
