We enjoyed the afternoon and evening with our friends from Malaysia, Kit Soon and Seow Fei. He works for Motorola and is part of a training internship in which he lives in three different countries for six months each before going back to his job in his home country. They started out in Taiwan and have been in the States since the end of June. They'll be heading back home for two weeks on December 26th, before moving on to Beijing. They found our church through the Internet and have been attending ever since. They have been a great blessing, helping out with the youth group on Wednesday nights and attending faithfully every Sunday morning. We have enjoyed "exposing" them to several American experiences, such as eating S'mores, raking and jumping into leaves (the leaves never fall in Malaysia b/c it is always warm), carving pumpkins, going on a hay ride, and this past week, celebrating Thanksgiving. It is actually quite fun to experience these things with an adult for the first time.
We also had our neighbor Rita over, whom we hope will come to know the Lord. She has been "doing" a lot of religious things lately and tells us about them often, but we hope she comes to realize that she can have a personal relationship with the Lord. We had a time of sharing thanks (including spiritual things), and I hope what was said had an impact on her. She stayed until 10:00, so we know she felt comfortable! What a difference from a couple years ago, when she would hardly do more than wave at us from across the street!
We enjoyed a nice dinner (I suppose I shouldn't say that since I made it, but I will anyway). It was finished later than I planned, but everything was done at virtually the same time which is always the trickiest part for me. We had lots of left-overs which we'll be eating for dinner tonight.
We enjoyed some more time together, dessert, and a game of Aggravation to top it all off. And since I've already patted my back once, I might as well do it again - I actually won! We then had a nice conversation about serving the Lord in full time service, something they are open to in the future and also the experiences we have had over the past year. They left at 11:45 to catch some deals at the outlet stores in WI. I like my sleep too much to stay up all night shopping!
All in all it was a nice day and I was happy we got to spend the time not only with our new-found friends, but also getting to know our neighbor better.

Sounds like you had a ton of fun! Glad you were able to show your friends some American fun, too! :~)
We are scheduled to leave Japan on the 2nd, putting us in the States on the 2nd, I think. We're planning to stay for about a week to a week and a half (Nathan's thinking no later than the 13th of January). Not too much longer, because we'd like to be semi-settled before Caleb arrives... I have a feeling he'll come early, although that could just be wishful thinking, LOL! ;o)
