Housing

This is the apartment complex one of the couples we visited lives in. They actually had one of the largest apartment we saw, with three bedrooms and a large kitchen - very rare here.

This is one of the apartment buildings near where we stayed. The people on the bottom floors have bars over their windows for not only security, but also the opportunity to expand their apartment size a little. As you can see, they use the area for drying clothes,
as dryers are certainly the exception and not the rule.

This was the view from the living room window in our temporary apartment. We were on the 9th floor in this building, which is about four years old. If you could use the bathroom for a couple days, you would never believe it was constructed that recently. One adjustment for us was throwing toilet paper in a can and not flushing it down the toilet. We also received a shock our first morning, when Jason overflowed the shower. I was getting ready at the sink, when I realized I was being surrounded by an inch of water. The inch or two of plastic that was supposed to hold the water in the shower area only served to prevent me from mopping the water back where it belonged. I finally got it pretty dry and the extremely dry air did the rest.
