D's kindergarten teacher approached me one morning this past week and told me that he had said his first sentence. I was eagerly anticipating what he had chosen as his first Slovak sentence. It was....
"My dad and mom don't smoke."
Yes, folks, there it is. Not exactly the topic I was expecting, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. I kept smiling and chuckling the whole way home thinking about it. Apparently the teacher had been telling them drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes are bad (not sure this topic is highly needed at 5 yrs. old, but...) and Dawson raised his hand and shared this sentence. I'm just glad he got the "ne" in the before the verb; otherwise he would have said we DO smoke!
