The Things I Don't Miss

I don't miss the commercialism of America. We see it when we go into the capital, but in our village it's basically non-existent.

I don't miss traveling nearly every weekend.

I don't miss packing and unpacking or loading and unloading the van for trips.

I don't miss speaking in front of strangers. I didn't mind meeting new people or visiting churches, I just didn't like having to get up in front of everyone.

I don't miss hoping our boys would behave perfectly at church or in a restaurant so the church would take us on for support.

I don't miss waiting for our support to reach 100%!

I don't miss less than desirable hotels (and there were several!).

I don't miss late nights of driving, of which there were many.

I don't miss all the traffic that went by our house. I was always nervous when the boys were riding bikes on the driveway.

I don't miss the mice that seemed to invade our house the last year we were living there.

I don't miss the flooding garage and/or basement in the spring.

I don't miss the long, overcast, and snowy winters. (Though I guess I should wait and see what we get here!)

I don't miss the questions about our support and when we were leaving!

I don't miss driving to or from meetings in bad weather.
