My Baby

This afternoon D was very proudly helping Daddy and Pan (Mr.) M. change our tires. There is a law here that you must have both winter and summer tires. When the temp hits zero Celsius, you are supposed to change them (or preferably have them changed before then). Well, it hit zero this morning and it snowed during the night, so changing them became a necessity. Thankfully our "majitel" or landlord came over and lent a hand.

When they had finished, I called to D from the house, "Come in, baby!"

He replied, "I am not a baby. That is not my name."

It must have bothered him quite a bit because he discussed it with me again tonight. In spite of my attempts to convince him that it is okay because he is the "baby" of the family, he was not persuaded.

What a sad, sad day.
