9 Month Check-Up

Baby had his 9 month check-up this week. It was rather uneventful since we haven't been experiencing any persistent problems and there weren't any shots involved.

He weighed 17' 10" and was 28 in. long. He is at 10% for his weight, which isn't great seeing as he was on the heavier side at birth. The projectile vomiting he experienced the first few months definitely set him back and he's never really recovered. The good thing is that he is holding steady at what he has been, so that's a relief. His length is at 50% which is super of course. The dr. told me his head size is at 75%, but I find that a little hard to believe. It just doesn't seem probable with our family history.

Other than that there is nothing exciting to report. The dr. went off on a tangent about not putting babies to bed with a bottle or cup, only because I mentioned we were introducing them during the nurse's questions. I assured him I never put him to bed with a bottle or cup, but he continued to go on and on about it.....it will rot their teeth, it starts bad hygienic habits, so on and so forth. I again assured him I don't do that. He said, "I just want to make sure you know why we say you shouldn't do that." I don't NEED to know why we shouldn't do that b/c I never do that! (I didn't say that, but I thought it!). This is my 3rd child and I've NEVER put anyone to bed with water, milk, juice, etc. My older boys don't have any cavities (they were at the dentist in Nov.). Another time he went off on a tangent about walkers - which we don't even have, which I told him, which he ignored. It could be worse, I'm sure.
