That would be the best way to describe our support situation at this time. Did I put the Patch the Pirate song in your mind?
We are encouraged by this upward progression because it is upward progression. In the midst of home foreclosures, job losses, a suffering stock market, and rising food and utility prices, our support continues to go up.
It is not always sunshine and roses. We have had two speaking engagements/church meetings where we were given no offering. Not one cent. That is discouraging for a number of reasons as I'm sure you can imagine. BUT, the Lord has proved faithful. In the past month or so we have added three individual supporters, have two (possibly three) more who intend to become supporters, had a church we visited vote to take us on (not sure on the amount yet, but possibly for 2%), and found out our sending church wants to increase our support at the business meeting on Dec. 21st (please pray for that). We could potentially be at 13-14% in January.
Each percent moves us one inch closer to Jason cutting back to part-time at work. And even more inches would move us closer to him being able to quit work entirely. This would make scheduling meetings easier and give us more freedom in traveling.
Thank you for your prayers - we definitely appreciate them! With the prayers of so many friends and family our support will continue to move upward little by little.
