Tonight for dinner I cooked some steaks in the crock pot with dried onion soup mix. I broke the meat up into pieces and we put it over mashed potatoes. If you're wondering why I cooked steaks in the crock pot - they weren't a good cut of steak and were very small and thin. I got them at a reduced rate of $1.99/lb. at our local grocery store because they were close to the sell by date.
Anyway, the mixture was rather dark.
Peyton comments, "This black stuff isn't yucky. It's good."
Later Gavin says, "Mommy, you're the best cook in the world."
He must have changed his mind because later he said it was sour.
It's a good thing I don't get my level of self esteem from what my boys say during dinner.
