Works of God List

In college our president, Dr. O., encouraged us to have a "Works of God" journal. Although I thought at the time that it was a good idea, I haven't put it to use faithfully over the years.

With all that the Lord has led us through, particularly in the last year, I've been thinking I really need to record all the blessings and provisions the Lord has given us. It will be a good way for me to keep a positive outlook, focus on God's provision, and praise Him for meeting our needs all at the same time.

I'm going to start the list tonight (even though it's nearly midnight) and will probably add to it as I think of more things and/or as God continues to work on our behalf.

-Provision of a temporary client for two weeks after Jason's hours were cut in half.
-A four bedroom house to rent at a reduced cost.
-Being able to live with my parents to save on living costs.
-A monetary gift that was exactly what we had paid for our used table and chairs.
-A love seat and chair and a half for $25 at a yard sale.
-A free washing machine (which we'll be picking up Friday!).
-Two relatives gave us corn on the cob.
-A free Slovak tutor.
-A $500 gift from our church to help with household expenses.
-Several men, two young men, and a lady from our church who helped us move.
-Meals ladies provided when I was on bed rest and after Dawson was born.
-Our new neighbor across the street has given us tomatoes and zucchini.
-A church member let us pick apples for free.
-Several "out of the blue" monetary gifts from friends and family.
-Dawson's baby shower - 905 diapers and about 2,100 wipes!
-A wonderful sending church.
-Someone gave us mini blinds for our patio door for free.
-A lady in our church made me a nursing cover.
-Visits, cards, and phone calls from ladies in our church when I was on bedrest.
-Four ladies in our church who took the boys for me when I was on bedrest and after Dawson was born.
-The safe (and quick!) delivery of Dawson.
-A great new allergist to see Gavin.
-Faithful prayer from a retired ABWE missionary whom I've never met.
-Gavin passed his beef challenge in April.
-A gift from our mission board into our account.
--The organizer of the marriage retreat we attended gave us a discounted rate.
--Our landlord is putting central air in our house!
--My parents helped us get our house ready to move in.
--The encouragement of a fellow deputation couple in our church. They are going to PNG with New Tribes.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but my brain is fairly empty of any real valuable thoughts at this point!

Thanks Adele, for comprising that list. It was an encouragement to me to see how God has provided for my wonderful friend & her family. You're often in my prayers & I love seeing the specific ways He meets your needs. *hugs*
