Mr. Munch's Metamorphosis

Mr. Munch has moved on to the chrysallis stage. I am so relieved to know I didn't kill him somewhere in the process. He hung upside down last night and today and when I checked on him this afternoon he was starting to move. It's hard to describe how, but I could see all his "skin" moving as he seemed to almost be pushing. I had to feed the baby, but checked on him again half-way through and there didn't seem to be any change. I got done feeding the baby and unfortunately took the time to put on jewelry and change my pants. When I came out into the kitchen he had already started splitting his skin. I quickly turned on the video camera, called for Jason, and had him wake up the boys from their nap. We got to see the skin go slowly up, up, up and also got to see him wiggle and squirm until it fell off. The green shape left behind almost looked like a butterfly in a way, but by the time we left for AWANA he was shorter and in the chrysallis shape. I almost wish we could have sat there and watched that stage, but unfotunately we were on a tight dinner schedule. He's all dried out - so now we wait for two weeks to hopefully see the butterfly emerge.
