Up to this point in our children's lives, we have felt pretty safe about spelling things out. Although we can probably still use this tactic for some words, we learned there is one for which spelling will no longer work.
The week before Christmas we headed to an outlet mall which is about 30 min. from here. We had a few more presents to buy so we decided to go there to finish up our shopping. In the afternoon we decided to go to Hoss's, which is similar to Ponderosa. In my opinion the food is much better at Hoss's and they have yummy chicken noodle soup. But alas, I digress.
Anyway, I said something like this to Jason.
"They have j-e-l-l-o up there." (meaning on the salad bar)
Peyton's response, "JELLO!"
Now mind you, he's 2 1/2. I think we're in trouble.

Chloe's the same way with us with certain words - Elmo and park being among them. Kids certainly observe more than we think they do!
