26 Weeks

We are now at the 26 week mark - only one more week to go to be in the 3rd trimester! Although in some ways it seems I have been pregnant for a while, I also think it is going by rather quickly. Before we know it, we'll have three little boys to keep track of and care for. Whew!

Yesterday on the way home from the allergist we stopped at a Target we saw along the way. We bought a take home outfit and a fleece blanket that were both on clearance. Gavin felt quite special since we involved him in the "picking out" process. We also bought our first pack of newborn diapers. I figure if we buy one a month until the baby comes, the cost won't seem so overwhelming! Why don't newborn diapers come in a bulk box? That's a really good question seeing as they go through diapers at an alarmingly fast rate and a package of 40 only lasts five days at most. Granted most babies aren't in them very long, but one package certainly doesn't cut it!

I feel a little better knowing we have the main items we need to bring the baby home. I am trying to hold off on other preparations, though it is a little difficult. I like to be prepared ahead of time since my pregnancies don't always go so predictably (a.k.a bed rest).

We think we have the name picked out, though I am still going over it in my head just to be sure I like it. I saw it on a street sign yesterday. Is that good or bad? We still have three months left t decide for sure so I suppose I shouldn't be too worried about it yet.

Still waiting on my glucose and CBC results. The dr.'s office didn't have them yet, as of yesterday. They were supposed to get them on Friday so I'm not sure what happened. I really don't want to get it done again!

I've been keeping a log of how many 12 oz. glasses of water/juice/skim milk I've been drinking each day. My goal is at least six, but preferrably seven. It really does help to see it written down and it gives me a way to gauge whether I'm on track or not. I'm still having some contractions, but not nearly as many as before, so it seems to be helping!

Thanks for keeping our little one in your prayers!

So there's a big connection between staying hydrated & preventing the contractions? I never would have guessed that. I also find it helpful to write things down in order to keep track. Somehow it makes you feel like you've accomplished something. I'm really curious about the name...are you gonna make me wait until he comes to find out what you've picked?

Hmmmm....I'm pretty sure the name will be ending with an "n". Sooo...Quentin? Landon? I'll have to think of some others. ;o)
