We had a very nice weekend (Thursday-Saturday) in the Shipshewana area. It is comparable to Lancaster, but I would say it is less commercialized - at least in my opinion.
We enjoyed the hot tub, traded recipes, shared book recommendations, shopped, ate, shoppped some more, looked at pictures, talked, took a walk, and drove through the countryside. It was so nice to be able to spend the entire time doing girl things. We have decided we would like to do one year with the kids, then one year without. That way we'll still all get to see each other's children every once in a while, but also get a year away!
Our lives have certainly changed a lot since our Northland days. There have been weddings, new jobs, funerals, moves, children, family health issues, etc. since our "carefree" days. At the same time, there is still a connection and a bond that we have together. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the Lord since that gives us a lot in common. Continued communication and our get-togethers have also helped. I am thankful for friends with whom I can visit and share, almost feeling as if I've been ushered back TEN (oh my!) years.

YAY! So glad you had a girls' weekend away. Just curious, what pals do you keep up with from NBBC?
Btw, that hot tub sounds so wonderful and relaxing. Wish someone would invent a pregnancy-safe hot tub. My back is starting to hurt and I'm only in the 5th month.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time! We went to Shipshewana back in our college days and I really enjoyed it. Glad you got to de-stress for a few days! :0)
Dell - did you take the pic with all the crazy hats? I would so love to have that for my blog...thanks & have a great weekend!
