WW II Reminders



These two pictures were taken in Bratislava. The first picture is of a tribute to the Jewish people who were killed during WW II. You can see the Star of David on the top. The synagogue was destroyed during the war so an outline of it was etched into this wall, behind where it originally stood.


This synagogue is in Lucenec, in the south central part of Slovakia. Unused since the Jews were deported, it stands in tribute to those who lost their lives. Very few Jews remain in Slovakia due to the racial purging of WW II.

Those WWII reminders make me think of my visits to Pearl Harbor. It's not a fun stop to make on your vacation, but definitely worth it. Lest we forget, huh?
