Roughin' It...

...in the living room.

That's where my guys are right now, complete with sleeping bags and a flashlight. Before Jason left for the conference he told the boys he would set up our tent in the living room when he got back. So tonight was the night. After he came home from church (we stayed home since Gavin is still coughing and there was no AWANA tonight for spring break), he set up the tent with two little assistants. They hunted down their sleeping gear - mankeys, quilts, and stuffed animals.

I brought out a bowl of marshmallows since everyone knows you can't go camping without marshmallows. Gavin was thrilled with the treat, but Peyton didn't seem too impressed with his first exposure to "raw" marshmallows. He even offered one of his to Jason!

A diaper change, bathroom pit-stop, brushed teeth, and a night-time prayer later and they were all heading to their boys only night. I closed the door to the office so it would be authentically dark for them, settled myself on the couch with a lime popsicle, and opened up the grocery store circulars for some relaxing reading. (I did set that aside to watch some t.v.)

I heard them talking for a little while, but all settled down quickly, as I'm sure Jason hoped it would. Maybe this was his way of making sure he got to bed early! I have a feeling when the guinea pigs start moving about looking for food, two little ones might be awake earlier than normal.

I am thankful Jason enjoys spending time with the boys. I'm not sure who enjoys it more - him or them!
