Biting the Potty Training Bullet

It seems like we've been working on potty training with Gavin forever. He won't dirty his pants any more, which is REALLY nice since Peyton supplies me with plenty of dirty diapers. Gavin will go potty when we tell him to, but there isn't much initiation on his part. If we don't tell him, he doesn't go. When we found out he had blood in his urine we didn't want to push it just in case something was wrong, but now that the test results are normal, we have decided to bite the bullet. We are now wearing "underwear like Daddy". It has meant changing quite a few times, and a little extra laundry, but I think he is thinking about it a little more. At least we'll save some money on Pull-ups! I think the main challenge right now is teaching him to hold it (sorry if TMI). I think the Pull-ups allowed him to just go whenever he felt like it and now he has to concsiously wait to go to the bathroom. We just need to make sure he realizes it can't be held with success for hours on end!
