Sharing Can Be a Bad Thing
Peyton has just recently learned the concept of sharing. Sharing is kind, thoughtful, loving - unless it is a partially chewed graham cracker, a half-drunk cup of soy formula, or a slobbery finger. These are the things Peyton has started sharing with us and with others. He seems to think, "Hey, it's yummy to me, so maybe you will enjoy it too!" The graham cracker maybe, but certainly not the saliva coated finger. Now refusing these offered items takes much skill. If we discourage him too much he may not learn which items he should share. If we encourage him too much, he may begin poking his yummy thumb into a church member's unsuspecting lips. That could get nasty. Oh, the challenges of parenting!
