Phew!

We passed! Our Oral Theological Exam, that is! I am so relieved it is over and done! I don't think we passed with flying colors, but most of that probably had to do with the fact we didn't even know we were getting it done until Tuesday morning. That certainly didn't allow for much preparation time. It also didn't help that Jason and Gavin both had dr.'s appts. at totally different places this morning at 9:00 and the exam started at 11:00. As a matter of fact, I was 40 min. late b/c I spent TWO HOURS at the dr's. office with both kids! Gavin was not only getting his 3 yr. check-up done, he was also getting his health profile form filled out for the mission board. Anyway, back to the original topic - thankfully they only asked me maybe five or six point-blank questions and the rest both of us answered. We didn't have much time at the end so Jason had to do the Eschatology section himself by giving a basic time-line. I'm glad they asked him b/c I often get the order of all those things mixed up. So, the ball keeps rolling for us in the application process. The main things I have left are to read several books, watch a DVD, listen to some tapes, get my transcripts sent, and get the physcial form filled out. It is pretty detailed, including blood work and chest x-rays, so I'm not really looking forward to that. I am glad things are coming along because at one time I was feeling very overwhelmed and wondering if I would ever get it all done.

Gavin did such a good job at the dr. despite the long wait. He even did his first urine sample - fun! They had to draw blood and he cried when they stuck the needle in, but once I got him distracted he did fine (even though they were digging around). Unfortunately they couldn't get it, so now I have to take him somewhere else to get it done all over again. He was so brave, I hate to put him through it again, especially since he might have to get blood drawn in April at the allergist. The poor boy has been poked way too many times for only being three.

Please pray for us as we continue to move forward, especially in the area of timing. That is a big concern for us right now since we do not know how much longer we can stay in our position here at this church b/c of finances. Also, we have not chosen a field yet, which I found out today 60% of this year's applicants have not as well, so that was a consolation.
