Garden Greens

Monday night Jason got to enjoy the beginnings of our spinach and lettuce crop by adding some to his ham sandwiches. Yesterday I got out in the garden to harvest the rest and got enough for a couple salads.

The pea and bean plants continue to grow and produce flowers, so we will see what happens in the coming weeks. I just hope they produce before we have to leave for candidate seminar or we will miss them. That would be really sad.

I spent some time pulling weeds - a much needed task. They were starting to close in on my plants. Now we can see where the plants are!

The broccoli continues to grow and now all of the cauliflower plants have little buds. I had to tie up the leaves yesterday b/c the heads are starting to yellow and/or purple already. I was a little late at doing it, but hopefully they will not be too discolored.

There is a 30% chance of a thunderstorm today. I hope it does come, otherwise I will have to get out and water the garden. It's been a while since we have had any rain.

Grow, garden, grow!
