We got the opportunity to tour an orphanage north of the capital. The children living here are all school age and most have family of some kind, which they visit during holidays. Many were previously cared for by an aunt or grandparent, or even rotated around the families in their village. Most came here because those caring for them could not afford to keep them or could not adequately take care of them. All 40 children came from one village. The first picture shows the expansion project they are currently working on.
