This culture holds many animals in high regard for their cunning, wisdom, strength etc. A deer is pictured here, but turtles, bats, elephants, and lions are also seen here and there.
The number of animals on the edge of a roof shows the importance of that particular building in the collection of buildings. They also serve as a way to hold the tiles in place on the slanted corners.
