Cesky Krumlov

Friday afternoon we got to visit Cesky Krumlov, one of the cities where they are hoping to plant a church in the future. It is quite a popular tourist destination and is absolutely beautiful. We toured the castle there, which is probably more like a very large manor. We ate a late lunch, which consisted of a huge plate we all took food from - various types of Bohemian food. A few things were chicken, ham, potatoes, sauerkraut (cold), cabbage, and a couple other things I couldn't identify. It was all pretty good, except the could sauerkraut took me by surprise.

After that Brenda (the missionary wife), her three children, and Jen (one of their short-termers), and I stayed to go shopping. Ron, Jason, and Rachel (the other short-termer) went to church for a youth leader planning meeting and the youth group meeting. I bought a marionette for Gavin for Christmas, a spoon to add to my collection, and some ethnic gifts which I can't mention since they are Christmas gifts. I just hope I get them back in one piece.

I took lots of pictures because there were so many picturesque spots. I can't wait to upload them onto our computer and to put them on here for you to see (all one of you!). It certainly is a beautiful city with lots of quaint shops, unique little restaurants, and lovely scenery.

Oooooo, I can't wait to see the pictures! I'm still amazed that you've been able to blog this much while on your trip. It's nice, though, that you can do it a little at a time. That way you won't get bogged (or should I say 'blogged' - heehee) down when you get home.
