My Poor Baby, Again!

What are the odds of having two relatively rare and certainly traumatic things happen in three days - to a sixteen month old? I wrote before that Peyton got stung by a bee on Saturday. Yesterday he got burnt on a curling iron. I was getting ready to give piano lessons so I plugged my curling in. I shut the bathroom door (but failed to latch it) and went into the bedroom to change. I heard something falling and soon after Peyton burst into tears. He must have pulled on the cord, then when it fell he touched it. Thankfully it only affected the tips of his fingers and not his whole hand. I'm also thankful it didn't touch his face when it fell. His finger tips looked worse at the beginning (almost like he had been in the tub for an hour - all wrinkly), but they look a lot better now.

When I was a teenager I remember one of the little toddlers in our church got burnt on his arm with a curling iron. It was really bad and very painful looking. I am very grateful that didn't happen to Peyton and that his burns are only first degree.

Hopefully we won't have any other events to recount for quite a while!
