Yesterday Jason went before an ordination council of six men - four pastors (including our pastor who retired in May) as well as two of our church elders. They asked him questions for 2 1/2 - 3 hrs.. We've heard of both longer and shorter time amounts. Studying for the doctrinal exam we had for ABWE helped a lot because they covered a lot of the same, or similar, things. There were a few tough ones, but he managed to get through them just fine. We had some church members who observed the process and they all thought he did a great job (and were thankful it wasn't them asnwering all those questions!).
The council voted to make a recommendation to the church to ordain him. I'm not sure when that service will be, but probably in the next month. This was something Jason has wanted to do for a while, so I am happy for him.
We went to the Golden Corral for dinner - a reward for him and me both!
