Elephants Remember

Apparently elephants are supposed to have good memories. I'm not completely sure about that, but I know my son certainly does.

A couple weeks ago I took him shopping with me. We were looking for a new comforter for our bed because the one we had was torn to shreds after six years of use. After we made our purchases (which, by the way, Jason didn't like so now everything has to be returned!), I told him we were going to go clothes shopping.

I did not mention the name of the store (Old Navy) or that we had been there before. As we walked up to it he said, "We need to look for Peyton's hat." I couldn't believe it. Probably about six to eight months ago I took the boys into that store and we lost Peyton's winter hat. I went back to the store later to see if they had found it, to no avail. I rarely shop at that store, except to stop in maybe once or twice a year to look for clearance.

I'm thinking maybe he has the smarts of his father, but the memory of his mother. I used to remind my parents of things they had long forgotten. Daddy on the other hand, can hardly remember kindergarten, let alone anything before that!
