...and a half!

As a young person I remember including these words in my answer (if they were applicable) when someone asked me how old I was. I, of course, always wanted to be older, more mature, more adult. My mom used to tell me I shouldn't wish my life away by always wanting to be older - apparently she had been plagued by this same tendency when she was young.

Today, on my half-birthday, I now have complete and total permission to add the "...and a half" onto my age. Somehow I think I will refrain from doing so. The thought of admitting to people I'm half-way to being thirty-......well, something, doesn't have any appeal to me any more.

Time and perspective sure do change things.

It's almost my half birthday, too... I'm with you, though. I won't be adding the "and-a-half" to my age any time soon!
