Blessing from God

Today we received a definite blessing from God in the mail. Unlike the bill we received the other day, this letter is one I never mind receiving.

The Sunday after we finished candidate school, we attended Jason's brother's church (formerly his dad's church). Jason got to teach in S.S. and preach the morning message. We also gave testimonies about our salvation, events leading us to serve in missions, and our future plans as ABWE appointees. A man who has been a close family friend for quite some time mentioned to us that he would like to give a one-time gift, though he did not tell us the amount.

Today we received a letter from him, with the promise to give a very significant one-time gift. This gift will cover airline tickets to take a survey trip, as well as purchase some necessary electronic equipment (such as a lap top and projector). He also said he would like to support us monthly, through the church's mission's giving. This would give us a little over 2% of our monthly support.

I think the Lord knew I needed a little "faith boosting" (as another candidate put it earlier this week in an e-mail). I had been wondering how we would ever raise all the money we need (just to buy things to start pre-field) without being able to start visiting churches for support. I know if God can provide this amount through one person, He will be able to provide even more through others who are burdened to help our ministry.
