Accomplishment

Gavin has a pair of sandals that buckle on the sides. We taught him how to put them on, but we've always buckled them for him. Well this morning he surprised me when he buckled one of them all by himself! He then proceeded to do the other one! We never tried teaching him how to do it because I wasn't sure he could get the "pokey part" (technical term) to stay in while he put the end of the strap through the buckle. Well, he can. Another step towards independence and time saved for me every time we go out of the house. At least until winter and tennis shoes!
